Khanh Hoa
Khanh Hoa is the coastal South Central of Vietnam. To the north, it borders to Phu Yen, to the south, borders Ninh Thuan, to the west, borders Daklak, Lam dong, to the east, borders Eastern Sea. Hon Doi cape is the far east of Vietnam. The population is 1.160.100. the area , including land and 200 islands, archipelago is 5.197 square kilometers. The coast is 385 kilometers long with a lot of lagoons, bays, island. Truong sa archipelago has important part in economy, military.
Khanh Hoa has advantage in road, railway, seaway and airway.
In military aspect, Khanh Hoa has important part because of near the maritime way, Truong Sa and Cam Ranh.
Khanh Hoa is sunny weather, the average temperature is 26 C degree. The rainfall is 1200 – 1800 mm, the weather is sunny and rainy.
Khanh hoa has the diversity of resource, seafood. It can be process to export, the bird’s nest can export or processes to the valuable food.
Khanh hoa has the potential in tourism and service. It is one of top ten tourism center of Vietnam, Nha trang bay is one the the most beautiful bay in the world.
TRAFFIC NETWORK
The transportation network in Khanh Hoa province has 4 types of transportation: Air, railway, waterway and road. It is advantageous for Khanh Hoa to develop a comprehensive economic, domestic and foreign exchanges in the fields of international trade, tourism, business production and exchange of goods.
* Road:
The infrastructure system of road in Khanh Hoa relatively develop, located on important coastal traffic routes of Vietnam as: National Highway 1A running along the coast from Ca pass to Da Bac rapid connecting to Northern and Southern provinces; 26 Highway connect Ninh Hoa to Dak Lak and the central highlands provinces; 723 Street make the distance from Nha Trang to Da Lat shorter 140 km and project of North-South high speed railway passing to Khanh Hoa.
The whole Khanh Hoa province currently has 2,086 km of roads. In particular, the roads managed by central are 224.38 km long, accounting for 10.75%; the roads managed by province are 254.95 km long, accounting for 12.21%; roads managed by the district are 327.47 km long, accounting for 15.69% and roads managed by communes are 1,566.97 km long, accounting for 75%. The quality of roads: gravel and macadam roads are 399.52 km long, accounting for 19.14%; asphalt roads are 362.77 km long, accounting for 17.38%, the rest roads are pathways.
Provincial streets: Nguyen Tat Thanh Street connects Cam Ranh airport with Nha Trang city, Pham Van Dong Street connects Tran Phu Street with the National Highway 1A, the Street Khanh Binh - Ninh Xuan connects from Highway 26 to Khanh Vinh. All communes have roads for cars to the town center. Currently, Nha Trang has 6 bus routes that serve the public creating smooth traffic routes in the province. The road to Hon Ba resort, road to Dam Mon tourist area and other roads have been completed to develop the potential of the economic region of the province.
* Railway:
North– South Railway run along the Khanh Hoa province, approximately 149.2 km long, through Nha Trang city and most districts in the province. The province has 12 railway stations; the stations along the routes are mixed stations; only Nha Trang railway station is the main station, large scale with the duty to transit passengers and cargoes from Lam Dong, Buon Me Thuot to the Northern and Southern provinces.
Nha Trang railway station was inaugurated on September 2nd 1936 and the railway run through Viet Nam also completed in October with the same year. Nha Trang railway station nowadays remains the same architectural style of railway station with the unique image of the "bulb".
Currently, all reunification trains stop here. Besides Reunification trains, there are SN1-2, SN3-4, tourism trains Nha Trang - Saigon SNT1, SNT2 ... Besides Nha Trang railway station, the province has 12 other stations distributed in all districts, towns and cities, except two mountainous districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh and Truong Sa island district.
* Air route:
Khanh Hoa has Cam Ranh international Airport in the North of Cam Ranh peninsula, away from Nha Trang City about 35 km, Cam Ranh City 10 km to the South.
In 2011, the Cam Ranh International airport welcomed 1,000,000 passengers, holding 4th in the system of Vietnam airport by number of passengers passing. In 2015, Cam Ranh International airport welcomed more than 2.7 million passengers, exceeding the design capacity compared to the existing station (designed capacity welcomes 2 million visitors in 2020). Thus, September 2016, the new passenger terminal of Cam Ranh international airport started to be constructed with the design brings the beauty of the nest, the total floor area of 50,500 m2, including: separated departures/arrival; 80 check-in counters; 10 gates; functional areas and business services, car parking, synchronous traffic roads go out and come in station... It is expected, to 2030, the new station will welcome 8 million visitors/year.
According to the plan approved by the Government, to 2020 and orientations to 2030, Cam Ranh International Airport has the capacity to receive the Airbus 320, 321, 300-600, the Boeing 767, 777, 747 or equivalent; using 2 runaways, taking off and landing. Cam Ranh International Airport has expanded the international and domestic routes. Cam Ranh airport currently has domestic routes to: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Vinh, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Thanh Hoa, Hue ...; international routes: Russia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Quang Chau, Thanh Do, ...
* Waterway:
Khanh Hoa has many sheltered regions and bays, deep water located in the East Pole of Vietnam close to the international maritime route, so it is very convenient for the construction of sea ports. Currently the province has 5 ports: Cam Ranh, Nha Trang, Hon Khoi, Van Phong International Container Entrepot, Da Tay (Truong Sa).
Nha Trang port has cargo handling capacity of 1.2 million tons/year. The port has four wharves; the longest wharf is 215m which can receive general cargo with a tonnage of 20,000 DWT and passenger ships to have the capacity to 60.780GT. The port has channel depth from - 8.5 to -11,8m; total open storage is 80,000m2. In addition, the Port has diversify services such as towage, tug vessels calling in or departing from the ports in the region; warehousing; transporting goods by road and waterway; Cruise and passengers services both international and domestic; welcome passenger ships, domestic and international passengers; electricity and water supply, mechanical repair ... for vessels to the port.
On April 14th 2016, Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) formally transferred the right represent to the owner of state capital at Nha Trang Port Joint Stock Company to Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee. According to the detailed planning of South Central seaport group until 2020 and orientations to 2030, Nha Trang Port will be planned, rearranged international passenger wharf, domestic passenger wharf, marina and specialized passenger wharves. Since 2016, Khanh Hoa Province has constructed the development projects directed to modern international tourism port, ending completely the transporting goods through Nha Trang port; striving to welcome minimum 150,000 international visitors traveling by seaway and one million domestic visitors have island tours. The subsequent years strive to achieve minimum growth of 20%/year.
Cam Ranh International Port is one of the leading deep-water port of Vietnam which near the international maritime routes, supply the maritime services and provide, repair large modern ships. Currently, project of Cam Ranh International Port has been completed Phase 1. Initially, focus on exploiting three areas: Providing maritime services for military ships, the cruise; repairing first wharf and providing travel services for crews, tourists. September 2016, the port welcomed the first international cruise to Khanh Hoa. Cam Ranh International Port after completing will be one of Vietnam's largest ports base on the length of berth with the maximum load to 110.000DWT, which can receive 18 ships at the same time and 185 ships per year. It is the first port in Vietnam which is designed to allow anchoring in stormy conditions to level 8.
Hon Khoi port is located on Hon Khoi peninsula, the South of Van Phong Bay, about 12 meters from National Highway 1, is a specialized port to export salt combined with cargo port, with a capacity of about 10 thousand tons/year. From 2009 to 2014, the port has invested 28 billion Dong to upgrade the wharf system with two sections which have total length of 120m; the water depth before the wharf is 1.9 m, the port is capable of receiving vessels with a maximum draft of appropriate 1.900DWT; it have suitable tidal range for vessels calling in or departing from the port. Currently there are 5 cranes at the port, lifting capacity from 10 to 40 tons. Goods through the port are mainly cement, agricultural products, salt, and fertilizer. Ministry of Transport planned Hon Khoi port to have an area of 4.5 ha in 2030. This will be an important and favorable condition for the port to invest in the construction, development of production and business. It is expected that in 2017, the port will invest to upgrade ships with tonnage from 4,000 to 5,000 tons in handling cargo.
General Port of Bac Van Phong (under Van Phong International Container Entrepot) at Dam Mon area is currently invested to build in the first stage by Nha Trang Port Joint Stock Company. The port has the area of 42,21ha. In the first period will build one wharf which can receive the ships with the tonnage of 50,000 tons, the clearance capacity of 1.5 to 2 million tons of cargoes each year. Total investment of the project is about 417 billion Dong, in which the capital of the company carried out 200 billion Dong, loan capital is 217 billion Dong; progress of investment is from 18 to 26 months, in which time for the implementation of investment procedures, planning, land, designs is from 6 to 12 month, construction time is from 12 to 14 months, operation time of the project is 50 years. Completed phase will build two container berths for vessels up to 15,000 TEU with cargo clearances from 1 to 1.5 million TEU/year; it should be build Entrepot when needed.
PUBLIC
- Power supply: Khanh Hoa uses the power of a national network of 220 KV, diesel power supply reserves to meet the needs of electricity for production and daily life. The province has covered 100% power to the communes.
- Water supply: Nha Trang city has two water plants with the capacity of 70,000m3/day - night, the town, county town also have water plants to ensure water supply to meet the needs of socio - economic development of the province.
- Communication: Khanh Hoa uses modern electronic switchboard systems; all districts have switchboard number, 100% of communes covered landline phone, mobile and Internet network. 103/105 communes in the province have the postal and telecommunications service, accounting for 98%.
